2005 started with a New Years day flight up to Bullhead City Arizona with 5 other planes from the Phoenix area. We took a shuttle across the Colorado river to Laughlin, Nevada

On March 12th, I got up early, and flew to Springerville Arizona.

Richard, who has a second home in nearby Greer met me at the airport and we made the short drive to Sunrise Park ski area for a full day of skiing. The first time skiing in about 18 years.

The following weekend I hiked up Picketpost Mountain, south of Superior Arizona.

and 3 days later, experienced white water rafting down the upper Salt River.

April 3rd, a hike in the Superstition Mountains to Reavis Falls, which turned out to be a hike with more distance and vertical than expected.

The following weekend, back to the Superstitions for a scenic hike up LaBarge canyon, over the hill and return up Boulder Canyon.

On July 2nd at 6:15 am I took off for Kalispell, Montana, with a fuel stop in Preston Idaho and landing before noon at Kalispell. By 2 pm we were hiking through snow to Hidden Lake on the Continental Divide at Logan Pass in Glacier National Park.

July3 was a 10 mile hike to Iceberg Lake from Many Glacier and return to Kalispell.

The next morning I flew to Yakima Washington and drove to Mount Rainier and hiked for several hours in the Paradise area on the Skyline trail.

The following day I hiked Rampart Ridge on the west side of the park and Silver Falls on the east side and enjoyed seeing all the waterfalls, glaciers and big trees.

On August 20th, several planes from Phoenix headed to San Diego. We went to see the Aircraft Carrier Midway and some of us came back to Phoenix while others spent the night but were delayed by fog in the morning.

The following weekend was a hike up Six Shooter canyon and down the telephone trail on Pinal Mountain, south of Globe Arizona.

October 15th was the fifth annual trip to the Land of Enchantment RV fly-in, this year it moved to Santa Teresa, New Mexico, just north of El Paso.    There is a Museum there as well as lots of RV aircraft that had flown in.
