George the cat

George the cat was born sometime in early 2004. I didn’t get him until the last day of September 2004. He acted as if he was right at home immediately, more relaxed and friendly than any cat I’ve ever seen.

George thinks that he is a dog, waiting at the door when I come home, following me from room to room, drinking from the toilet, fetching his toy mouse and dropping it on my lap so I will throw it again. He likes to be chased and he licks you with his raspy tongue whether you like it or not.

He likes drinking any running water- faucets, tub spouts, whatever. He stands on the side of the tub, his tail hanging below the shower curtain when I am showering. Every time a drop of water hits his tail he flicks a little but it usually ends up pretty wet by the time the water is shut off and he begins to lick the water trickling from the spout. If I leave a vitamin e on the kitchen countertop, it will disappear. Maybe that’s why George has such a shiny coat. He likes to watch the animal Nature programs on the PBS television station and rearrange the sock drawer in his spare time.
